On Poem : The Gaze of Her Eyes

The Gaze of Her Eyes

by @actinghappy

You sound like a distant memory that is just clear enough to remember but too foggy to make out. Feels like I'm getting loved and getting stabbed at the same time. Two more steps down from the stairway, leading me to an old broken wooden door. Searching out for some sort of exit, ‘cause I can't suffer anymore. But before I can even reach the doorknob, I see a small lake reflecting the grey clouds carelessly floating by. Through the small creak from the broken door, I see her. There you are, that familiar figure. I see from the top of the hill, the woman I've been looking for. Once more, as I take another step, I feel my feet go heavy as it sinks beneath the ground. It is turning dark. This time I realize I'm running out of time. I hear myself calling her name softly for the last time. "Lily.." I say. I meet her eyes, glancing at mine as I begin to fall down. I see her running, crying through the pouring rain. Feel my hands reaching out for hers desperately, I hear her screaming my name on top of her lungs. This is it. The bad ending where I couldn't save myself from the universe. The curse they gave was too strong for me to break down. A house on top of the hill, with a small lake at the back from the kitchen. They left it empty. Haunted. Where I suffer from the curse once more time.
