The film was directed by a famous Hollywood director, Sam Raimi. Sam Raimi is known for his previous films. In 2022, Marvel Studios contracted Sam Raimi to be given the freedom to direct the sequel of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. 

  • Plot 

This film tells us about the continuation of the adventures of Stephen Strange who must solve his multiverse problems with Wong and Scarlett Witch. In this film, Marvel Studios added a new female superhero, America Chavez. If you ask me, have I watched it? the answer is yes, I have watched it. And I was quite impressed by Sam Raimi in the development of the character of Doctor Strange in his sequel movie. And I appreciate the actor himself, Benedict Cumberbatch for bringing so many variants of Stephen Strange into every universe of Marvel. All of those roles he did amazingly and it must take a lot of energy playing all the variants of Stephen Strange. Besides the main character, the other character Scarlet Witch and America Chavez did steal the show. How could that happen? Cause, in the movie the first time in 10 minutes, we see that Stephen Strange meets America Chavez for the first time in his universe, and of course, it was caused by the monster who came after her for some multiversal power. Believe me or not Stephen did ask for the help of some power of magic from the witch. 

What had me surprising me is from the beginning Wanda Maximoff was not planned to help Stephen. That was quite a satisfying plot twist for me. But I have to tell you all there is so much surprise I want to tell you this time. Let’s start with the plot review, I don’t know if it’s either my expectation or it was just my assumption about this movie, but I think this plot of this movie was too easy to guess for us. Because, there are too many important plot and character that was revealed in the trailer. I might have to say this because in the theatre version it was all true, although it’s not all the rumour are true, some are true.

  • Visual Effect

Let’s review the visual effects of this movie including the editing scene, VFX, and many more. Sam Raimi did a good job with the visual effects of this movie. The sequel itself has surpassed my expectation of this movie, I did not expect this movie too much, but I do sure that the visual effects of this movie will be stunning, I just know that.

Sam Raimi did want to add the horror element to this movie. Don’t worry this review is free from spoiler content. It seems Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios wants this movie to be something different, now with Sam Raimi directing it, he knows that Sam Raimi’s horror aspect was competitive, besides the other horror actor like James Wan or Ari Aster. As we know that a horror movie is not just about jump scare or creepy things in it, it was about the essence and element of a scare of the movie that convinces people who watch it would be extremely terrified. That’s how the horror movie is supposed to be made.

  • Music Scoring

The music on this movie was directed by Danny Elfman. What I love about Danny Elfman’s soundtrack is, he always nailed the music with the character, some people think that Danny Elfman made music fit with the character, but I felt the same the way they think too. I felt like his soundtrack was giving nailed vibes of the character and situation.

From the beginning until now, I still believe this movie was not a flop movie completely, because for me there is some kind of aspects of this movie that are worth reviewing and criticizing. For me, the Doctor Strange sequel in the Multiverse of Madness is a great or bad movie. My point is this movie is not great but okay movie cause some parents think their child would love marvel movies? Think about this movie twice, I recommend you to watch it first then you decide, whether it is good for your children or not. Well, I guess we are done with the closing statement of this movie. In closing, this movie was not really terrifying and still fun to watch for those who want to continue the marvel cinematic universe. See you in the next movie mate.
